History:
La Salle is an independent, coeducational university founded in 1863 by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, a Catholic order dedicated to teaching and career preparation. The University has been ranked among the country's top schools by U.S. News & World Report, Barron's, Money magazine, and The New York Times. La Salle offers 13 graduate programs, including the University's first doctoral program (in clinical psychology). Most classes average 20 students, and the student-faculty ratio is 16-to-1.The main campus is located just minutes from Center City Philadelphia on a beautiful 100-acre campus. It includes 12 acres of woods and gardens, the restored 18th century home of American portrait painter Charles Willson Peale, and one of the finest college art museums on the East Coast. The University's Bucks County Center is located in Newtown, Pa.
